Turon con Tsokolate with Caramel Sauce is a very common Filipino dessert or snack. Instead of langka, we are putting chocolate chips, and the caramel sauce will replace the sugar coating.
Ingredients
- Banana (Saba)
- Lumpia Wrapper (square)
- Chocolate Chips
Ingredients for Caramel Sauce
- Sugar
- Water
- Butter
- Cream
Procedure
Prepare the bananas. Slice a banana in half lengthwise. Cut each half into halves again, lengthwise. Set aside.
Prepare the toron. Dampen the edges of the wrapper, and put in a banana. Add chocolate chips.
Roll up half of the wrapper, fold in the sides of it and then wrap all of it up.
Deep fry them until they are brown and crispy on the outside.
Prepare the caramel sauce. On a pan, mix a little bit of water with the sugar. Stir it until the sugar dissolves. When it boils, immediately turn off the heat. Continuously stir it as it changes color. Add the butter. Add the cream. Keep on mixing the sauce.
Plate the Toron. Place two torons on a plate horizontally. Put another two on top of them, vertically this time. And then place two torons on the set, horizontally again.
Drizzle with the caramel sauce.
